OEMs, System Builders and End-Users, are deploying the feature rich capabilities of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) to extend Direct Access Storage (DAS) architectures beyond the traditional usage models. Functioning as a storage solution backbone, SAS allows large numbers of either SAS and/or SATA hard disk drives to be deployed in a variety of storage application environments, effectively extending SAS into new storage realms. Additionally, recent spec updates and new connectivity capabilities will be covered.
